Our transportation is a safe and economical way to travel around town, as well as helping our environment. Riding public transportation saves money. You don't have to worry about gas prices, insurance, or accidents, and you can meet new people each and every day! We offer services on our fixed routes ranging from South Zanesville to Maple Avenue in Zanesville. The Cambridge routes travel between Cambridge and Byesville. There will be bus service every hour in both Zanesville and Cambridge. Simply check the schedule for the time and location nearest you where you can either wait at a designated stop or hail the bus at any intersection on the bus route that is safe and on the same side of the street the bus is traveling. (This is called a flag stop.)

How to Ride the Bus

All fixed route buses will begin and end their routes and loops at the Main Street Terminal. When boarding the bus, please be sure to look at the destination sign located at the top of the bus above the windshield to make sure you are boarding the correct bus. If you are not sure, feel free to ask the driver. The destination sign will tell you the route that the bus will be operating on for 30-minutes. Buses that have a destination sign that read Not in Service, Special, EZ Ride, Garage or Have A Nice Day, will not stop along the street to pick up regular passengers. Those buses have specific lists of passengers that they must pick up.

When you see your bus approach, please be standing near the stop sign or the curb of an intersection on the same side that the bus is traveling.

Enter the bus through the front door. Please be sure that you have EXACT change as you board the bus. Our drivers do not carry change. If you are transferring to another bus to complete your one-way trip, please ask the driver for the transfer ticket as you board the bus and pay your fare. Transfers are good for up to one hour to catch the next bus. When you get on the second bus, simply hand the transfer to the driver.

Our fare boxes accept coins and dollar bills, but like the drivers, they DO NOT make change. Again, please refer to the Fares link to for complete fare information. Once you have paid the fare, please find a seat as quickly as possible as the bus may move before you are seated.

As the bus approaches your stop, please signal the driver that you want to get off by pulling the cord along the side of the bus windows. Please be sure to give the driver enough advance notice as they want to be making smooth stops.

When exiting the bus, please exit through the front or side doors of the bus. Be careful when stepping off the bus onto the sidewalk. The vehicles are all equipped with convenient handrails that may be utilized when boarding and alighting the bus.

How to Transfer Buses

There may be times when you have to transfer from one bus to another. When you get on the first bus, tell the driver you need a transfer. It is good for up to one hour to catch your next bus. When you get on the second bus, give your transfer to the driver.

Be Early

Being early is essential when you are depending on others for your transportation. This same thing applies when you are riding the bus. Watches and clocks seldom agree and often vary enough that one could end up missing the bus. Try to arrive at your bus stop at least 3 to 5 minutes prior to the scheduled time of the bus. Occasionally traffic conditions, inclement weather, passenger loads and other uncontrollable conditions may cause a bus to run behind its published schedule time. Please be patient if this occurs. SEAT will make every effort to get late buses back on schedule as quickly as possible.
