Complementary Paratransit Program

Complementary Paratransit is a conditionally approved service provided to passengers who live within ¾ a mile of SEAT’s Fixed Route areas but are unable to access SEAT’s Fixed Route system due to a disability or mobility barrier.

Examples of situations that prevent people from utilizing the Fixed Route System may be a person who is ambulatory but has difficulty walking the distance to his or her closest stop or the Transit Center. Other examples include a person who uses a mobility device and is unable to get to his or her closest bus stop because no sidewalks or curb cuts exist or snow blocks the route. People with cognitive disabilities, blind or deaf, may also have difficulties orienting themselves to a complex Fixed Route system with transfers.

Complementary paratransit services create an equal and fair opportunity of independence for passengers who require transportation services by providing them curb-to-curb (door-to-door if required) services as an alternative means of getting where you need to go!

If you live within ¾ mile of SEAT’s Fixed Route System and have difficulty using the Fixed Route system, please complete the Complementary Paratransit Application and return to SEAT’s Transit Center.

Applications will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. In some cases, a travel trainer may need to schedule a time to meet with you to help assist with the decision process.
